Anyone ever dealt with a chronic situation with homeopathy?

I've treated alot of things successfully with homeopathy, but they were relatively small and acute. I'm going through something that began as severe anxiety and then moved into insomnia that won't go away even with HUGE doses of regular pharms...which I don't really like to take anyway. One MD is prescribing prozac right now I know all these people are trying to help. One naturopath I saw gave me a constitutional dose of arsenicum to help with the anxiety and I don't know how good of a job it did. But now things are different and I totally need some sleep. I'm considering seeing a professional homeopath here in my area though the first visit if very high but she feels that she can help me. I know this is multi layered. I am working hard at hanging on to hope and functioning. This is all very perplexing to me.

Just wondering if anyone has successfully worked with a chronic situation before.

  • I am a homeopathic practicioner in the Denver area. I've treated many chronic conditions with success with homeopathy. What I like most about this particular health care is that it treats the person with the condition (the anxiety and the insomnia). What is important to know (once you've found a qualified practicioner whom you feel comfortable with), is that it is a process and that one dose, one time for a chronic condition or poly-symtematic complaints won't get you very far. While Arsenicum Album treats those conditions you mentioned, there are many more remedies (3000+). If you felt some benefit from one dose, I'd recommend that you continue with your homeopath for repeat doses or a possible change of potency or remedy. What is important to the homeopath is the nature of the anxiety (characteristics, somatic experience and how it affects YOU. This may take more than one visit. One wouldn't expect to have their life in perfect order with one visit to a therapist.
A good website for homeopathic history and case studies and books on the subject is Dana Ullman's site:
    www.homeopathic.com
If any of you on this blog are interested in finding a qualified practicioner, I'd suggest going to the National Organizations.
    National Center for Homeopathy
    North American Society of Homeopaths
Meanwhile, all the best to you and all,

  • not homeopathy but...
my ex boyfriend had some excellant results treating his anxiety with amino acids, htp (5?) and Gaba and stuff. he read a book called "the mood cure" or something to that effect. I noticed a big difference. Amino acids are present naturally in your body but can become out of balance. I know know this is an old post, but if you're still looking, hope this helps.
